What a fun day in computers! We tried a new program called sumdog today.
Students play games while exploring important math skills. Its highly engaging and motivating. Students can earn coins to buy clothes for their avatar, items for their digital house, and send presents to their classmates on sumdog. This has a great app that can be used on ipads, and android devices. Search for sumdog and the students can use their logins the received at school. I wish that I had something like this when I was younger and waiting for my siblings! I'd love to hear your feedback about this program at [email protected]

This year we have been using a new program called typing scout. It is internet based and our subscription is linked to your student's school google account. They can sign in and practice their typing on any device. They can login by googling typing scout or clicking this link. I met with each student to set typing goals and to check progress. We use google classroom to post assignments and daily work. Grades are composed of typing scout work and our projects completed in class.
I enjoy the enthusiasm and joy of the 4th grade. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns. We have had a great week getting everyone onto their new school google accounts. This year we will be focusing on typing in class and I do not anticipate many assignments to be completed outside of class.
